... and i am so glad i did.
all gear talk aside, it is the photos - and the people who make them - that drive my abiding interest here.
such talent.
such passion.
and such encouragement from so many here.
thanks.

not only are you an asset and a friend, but you've been a busy boy, having made 5,000 posts in a year. you commented on one of my images at 4:00am today. welcome to the insomniacs' club.
once, a fellow RFF'r intentionally misspelled my name, turning it from "klurfield" to "lurkfield." an amusing anagram suggesting perhaps that I spend too much time here and ought to get a life. while he wasn't wrong, I do enjoy all my time here thanks to folks like you.

Dude's got issues.
But really, since we are talking gear, time to buy a Leica, M7 I think, it would be a nice fit with your FE2.

I too spend a lot of time here, daily reading trying to learn.
but I almost never post.
5000 a year, hmm, 20 a day if only week days, 50 weeks, 2 week "holiday"- - pretty busy or not busy enough. (wink)
congrats on the one year point.

Paul, 5000 posts in a year is quite on the edge to some sort of sickness. on the other hand, 'some sort of sickness' is probably why most of us are here in the first place, and I am happy there is a refuge for sick people like us.
keep it going, I'm enjoying your posts a lot (which reminds me that I haven't checked the queue for the figurative symmetry group on flickr for too long
)
cheers.

To be totally fair to Paul and his 5,000 posts, I think he made about 1,000 of them in the past week and all to the never-ending photo association thread. Paul, Keith, I and few others having been working out our OCD on that thread. Good clean fun and keeps us from driving our significant others totally crazy. There are some ailment from which you wouldn't want to be cured. Old age is one and an obsession with the camaraderie and conviviality here might be another. (At least that's my excuse.)

Paul.
An amazing effort on your part. I joined RFF in Jan 2010 too and have noticed your posts but not the date you joined. For some reason I thought you must have been here for many many years.
Keep up the good work!
Helen.

thanks to all of you.
you have re-enforced exactly why i enjoy this place so much.
my work schedule, more than anything else, contributes to the post load. i work afternoons and early evenings. but i am a morning person, meaning i can dip in here often.
also, at night after work when my bride is farming on one laptop, i typically am on the little notebook. we can chat with another in real life while playing on the computers ...

heh, heh! I post here even while I'm working. In fact, even during boring teleconferences. Don't tell my boss.
thanks to all of you.

One year? And you already have over 5000 posts? Whew!
At least I have an excuse what with being there for my wife in the hospital two months and caregiving 24 hours a day the rest of the year. Time goes by so slowly in these situations but when you look back, where did it go? We missed Spring and late summer/early fall.... it just disappeared.
