Original Nokton 50/1.5 on the M8

Is this the C/V LTM lens, or the original "Prominent" lens?

Hi, Larry. IIt is the first version lens that Voigtlaender made for the Prominent. used an adapter that Amedeo made me. It made the old lens much more useful to me with my M8 and M9 cameras that only take M lenses. I should have clarified what I meant by "original Nokton". I have now added such a clarification in my first posting above.

Lovely pictures, Raid.

Do you have a picture of the lens itself? I am sure many people will think these pictures are with the Cosina Nokton.

Erik.

Thank you Erik. It is shown below on the M6.

The old Nokton is great for portraits. It is more forgiving than modern lenses with ultra-sharp rendition.

Thank you, Raid. Must be great to have that lens. I will look for one. Is the Contax-bayonet-version the cheapest?

Erik.

The only version is the one for the Prominent. Get camera with lens together for a low cost if you can find one. There used to exist an adapter for Prominent to Contax. I don't think that it is easy to find anymore.

I've found a local Prominent I I'm trying to buy. Have had a quick try of it and I'm not sure what the fuss is about as far as the ergonomics are concerned, a bit unorthodox but it all seems to work OK. But then I'm happy using an Exakta occasionally so maybe I'm less discerning about such things. The camera has a Skopar fitted to it, a good lens. It would be wonderful to score a Nokton one of these days but I can't see it happening with prices the way they are. Thank you for sharing these images with us Raid, because it's invariably interesting for me to see what older lenses can do with newer technology.
Cheers
Brett

I hope that you will enjoy your Prominent. I found my Prominent in an antique shop. It came with a 35mm Skoparon and the 50mm Nokton. My camera is a Prominent I. The Prominent II is supposedly better built.
