Original???

Anybody knows if this camera is an original bp-Canon P? I see lots of chrome comming through the black paint-where I normally would expect brass...

Looks original but perhaps painted black. Most Ps were made chrome. Even the serial number seems to have been freshly painted and hence the paint outside engraving. Good chance that a chrome body was painted black. See also, http://www.kuroneko-camera.com/cameras/canon_p.html

seems to me this is chrome painted over with black...

And, no black strap lugs, but (shiny) chrome too...

Also the sale just ended so either somebody tipped the seller off, or arranged a Buy It Now...

Authentic Canon Ps' have black self-timer levers with a white dot. Film advance lever is black too.
