OS X Mavericks update with VueScan

Obviously my idea that Silverfast's Mavericks driver only works with Silverfast products is pure speculation. We should know if VueScan is able to support Plustek products with OS X 10.9 before too long.

Just wanted to say that it's not Mavericks that broke Vuescan.
I'm on 10.8.5 with a 7600i and it doesn't work for me either. It's the new plustek driver (which you can also download from plustek btw) that breaks Vuescan.
Vuescan works perfectly fine on windows, that had its driver updated around the same time as OS X.
I doubt Plustek/Silverfast are sabotaging Vuescan even though I hate the Silverfast software and to some extent the company as well.

Going back to the old OS X driver is not an option for me, as the old driver has bugs that leads to weird behavior, like suddenly scanning super-slow and making jagged files. The windows driver never had these issues. My guess is that it's the workarounds made to address these previous bugs that is now the source of Vuescans problems.

If this doesn't get fixed soon I might end up scanning on a Windows VM or my windows laptop..

I solved the problem!
I did install Silverfast 8 to see if Vuescan would start working but nothing...
Then I just got lucky because I installed the older version, Silverfast 6 (last working version) SFpt-6.6.2r5(UScan-SE).dmg and now Vuescan is working!
The funny part is that Silverfast 6 doesn't work for me...

Update

My experience with the latest Vuescan Pro release and Mavericks is just as R Silva reported. I copied a Plustek driver originally installed from an older version of Silverfast into the Mavericks /Library/Frameworks folder from an old Mountain Lion back up using a simple drag to copy.

Now Vuescan Pro works perfectly with the Plustek 7600.

With the current Plustek OS X driver I downloaded from Plustek's web site, Vuescan would see the scanner and operate the scanner. But there was no data or histogram... just a blank. The saved file was empty... just a header.

My thanks to RSilva for sharing this solution. Now everything works with Mavericks.

Vuescan and HP Scanjet 4890

I upgraded to Mac OS 10 Mavericks about a month ago, and promptly lost the use of my HP 4890 Scanjet scanner. I heard about Vuescan, tried the demo, and then installed the 'Lite' version. It works perfectly, and even has a setting for Kodachrome. A good product.
