OT: Historic Photo from 1945

Thanks for sharing that cool story. I lived in the Philippines for two years, and visited Baguio numerous times. The theory was that President Marcos had found and stolen the buried gold, and I believe the victims of his presidency who filed suit against him when he went to Hawaii for medical treatment tried to recover it, among his other stolen wealth. Not sure if there ever was gold, but it's a great story that continues to arouse speculation to this day. --sooner/john

Thank you for that story. Amazing story about my "mother" country. My family history is significant in that my great great grandmother was the "Betsy Ross" of the Philippines. She was the one that actually sewed the flag which they brought out for the first time in the Battle of Alapan. There's apparently some controversy on whether or not that was the case but I digress. Anyway, thank you for that.
