OT: new approach to street photography:Street musicians

hey guys,
would like to hear your opinions on this, since the intro of video to the current crop or dslr's I started using video mode in a similar way I used to shoot with my Leica 4-2. I like it and prefer it much to the current available digital options for shooting street. Frankly I think all digital cameras suck (for street photography). The best one for now is the GH1 and GF1 but the shutter is way too loud.

I think it's the difference between a novel and a poem. The video describes the scene fully and explores the story around the event, while a photo takes a moment from the event and uses that alone to stand in for the entire whole and produce the feeling in the viewer.

I like it. I wonder what it would have looked like on super-8 or something, but then temper that with the thought that I might not have seen it on a web page in that case.

Anyway, nice work. I don't think a DSLR is the best option for capturing motion pictures, but it was well-used here.

[FONT=&quot]Lotsa noise, digital artifacts etc and loads of fun. Think digital version of 8mm film.[/FONT]

[FONT=&quot]The guys were rock’n ‘goodbye pork pie hat’; reflected sound off the wall works wonders.[/FONT]

thanks guys. @nighfly, true, video is additive, photography subtractive. @40oz, I keep looking at regular video cams - 1/3chips mostly, just borrowed one for a day, it feels much better holding, zooming etc, sound controls, when it comes to low light, totally suxs (panasonic hmc150) @DougFord, the audio is from the Sennheiser mke400 plugged into camera.
