OT: Yeah, hockey!

I'm a happy camper again! Even though the Leafs lost to the Sens, and Sundin got hit in the face with a puck, I'm happy hockey is back!

(Sorry, just have to get that off my chest. Hockey is the most popular religion here in Canada.)

I was going to be smartassed as I'm not much of a hockey fan. However, given the season my prefered NFL team is having, I can understand the joy of just simply seeing a game that is enjoyed, being played.

Who watched in the US? What do you think about OLN? Same faces doing the game, not a bad production.

I have no team at the moment. My Whalers are now Hurricanes, don't get MSG so I can't see all the Rangers games. It would be really hard for me to cheer for the Bruins (I loved when Ulf took out Cam's knee. Cam was such a cry baby over it. 🙂). I think I will let Sammy decide what team we should be fans of, I picked all the others.

I find it kind of interesting that Iowa has a semi-pro hockey team. We don't even have a semi-pro American football team, yet we have a hockey team. I hear they're fun to watch, though, even if they get their butts' kicked.

Maybe I'm getting too grumpy or cynical in my "old" age, but even as a diehard Habs fan, I'm boycotting the NHL this year. It's my little protest for them cancelling the entire season and especially the playoffs last year and for the lack of decency in at least allowing the Stanley Cup to be passed out by another non-competing league in its strike/lockout/greed year (women's hockey could've used a boost like the Stanley Cup).

But I digress. Enjoy the season, everyone, and let's hope it was worth it in the long run. :angel:

I will probably never watch it now since the white ice will speed up aging on my new plasma tv.. Although, if the red wings get into the playoffs, I'll take a peek..

I just can't wait for the NBA season to start!!! Go 'stones!

you know... that one major sport league that has spread like wild fire to asia and europe.. a true international team sport.. However, I don't doubt that for those still living in caves, they probably don't know a thing about it... 😉

Umm, everyone not in caves are playing soccer, the fastest growing sport in the US.

Funny, basketball is the most participated sport in the US, and Soccer is the fastest growing.

Internationally, Soccer is the most participated in and basketball is the fastest growing.

I just don't think that the NBA resembles basketball at all, just an opinion from a UConn Husky fan.
