Ok I have a Bessa R3M - sweet. What would be the next step if I want to equate this in the Leica M world. probably can't afford an MP, so what is the closest but cheaper than an MP?

M3 works great with 40mm lenses using the full finder. That has been my most common set-up the past year or so.

M6TTL, .85 finder since you are comparing to an R3m.

I'd say an M6. The M3 is good, but I see you use the CV 75, so the M6 has the framelines for it. You can use the 35mm lines for your 40 and it will work. Any VF should be OK, but if you're really fond of the 1:1 finder then the M6 with the .85 finder might be better for you (add a 1.25x finder and you've got a 1.06 finder IIRC).
