I have been shooting Trix for some time now and souping it in Xtol 1:1. I ususally shoot in @ iso800 and develop for 9min@20C° I like the contrast it gives but now I want more 😀
I have been falling in love with Ralph Gibsons look lately and want to try to get that deep black he gets. I dont mind all the grain, I actually have been falling more and more for big grain. I know he uses Rodinal but I live in Iceland and I cant get it here and it seems really hard to get the stores to send it here.
So Im thinking about doing some overdeveloping using Trix@800 and Xtol.
How far should I go? Should I develope like Im developing it @1600, that is 13.5 min? My concern is will I loose my highlights if I go to far.
Any experience overdeveloping Trix. if you have result that would be awesome 🙂
I scan my negatives and do some "what I would do in the darkroom" PS work on them 😉, that includes adding contrast and stuff but I rather get the result straight from the camera.
