I got one of these at a thrift store for $9. Sticky ISO ring. I shot one roll in it, and it was GORGEOUS! Great lens, good AF, good meter.
Then I dropped it.
A new one from eBay for more than triple what I paid for the first one is on the way.

I don't think I've seen one of these in this thread. I have a couple frames left in this guy before I can see what sorta results it gives but I expect it to do very well.

And for good measure, a dead mint L35 AF that I've yet to shoot because I don't want to get it banged up in my bag.

And one of the nicest looking P&S cameras ever made IMO...

Ricoh MY-1 for $3.00 from a thrift shop:
Just got it yesterday. Discovered the shutter would not fire due to a broken wire and corrosion under the shutter button. Fixed both and will be shooting some test shots shortly.

A Minolta AF-TELE Super.
Got it for £3.50. I've read loads of good things about it. Dropped a film in it - let's see how it performs.

Back in the day when I was a retail salespuke, I sold a bunch of these. I really loved the drop-in loading. And Fujinon lenses are always worth at least a shot.

That's not surprising... I enjoyed using the camera and it's every bit as capable as any similar spec'd compact. I'm sure the latter is the reason its not more common or more popular. The UC1s and mjus of the world offer similar specs in much "neater" packages. The lens seems fine but none of my photos were good enough, or of the right subject matter to make any concrete conclusions about it. If they were a bit more common, I imagine they'd make a great alternative for a fast-ish, prime P&S at a bargain price, but nothing comes up on eBay for current or completed auctions, so I've no way to judge what the value of one might be.

The hard-wired lithium battery is what keeps this little camera from cult status. Not too difficult to remedy, but enough to turn-off the casual buyer when other similar cameras are plentiful.

ETA I think that the DL200 with the 30mm lens was the camera that I meant to reference.

No offense Gerry, but this has got to be the strangest-looking camera I've ever seen. The ergonomics seems to be for frogs.![]()
It does look strange and there are a few issues with some of the controls, but the industrial design and ergonomics are actually very nice.

The DL-300 actually uses one of those bulky things that looks (and likely is) like 2 CR2s stuffed in a molded plastic case. I can't recall the actual number. Not ideal but at least easy to find.

Here are a couple of my favorite Minoltas that I don't think have been posted yet.
And another of my favorites just for good measure.

I have one of these as well... excellent camera!
I bought my copy from a Nat Geo photographer who used it during a hurricane in the early '90s (iirc)! I wish I could remember what issue the images were featured on...
