UPS, DHL, they're all screw-ups! I have never had any decent delivery by them, they charge you an arm and a leg, AND their speed delivery is completely nullified by their bungling of customs clearing or delivery at the door.
Once DHL came to my door and didn't find me at home, so they left a note saying they'd try again the next day, which would be of no use as that was also a working day. So I called them telling them to deliver at my work, which they could do but would take a day EXTRA. So I waited for two days and expected them to deliver at work, which they didn't: someone had forgotten to change my file properly, so the package was again delivered at my door. I called them again telling them I wanted them to deliver the package at my home the very next day, a saturday. They told they don't do deliveries on saturday but they'd change the address again. Lo' and behold, the next monday they delivered at my work... but monday is my DAY OFF! I got really angry by then as they had shipped my package this way and that for almost a week now and told them to deliver at my work the very next day or else.... (Yeah, right! What else?! Make them return my package that I waited for for so long?!) Finally they got it right and delivered the package, one week late. I paid an unheard amount of money for 2-day delivery from Australia but I might as well have asked for regular airmail delivery; it would have made no difference in time but an enormous difference in my wallet.
I have similar stories with UPS and other, local courier services. Damn me if I ever again use these courier services. 🙂
