Paracord straps?

Anyone?

Peace

Never tried but Son No1 is into bushcraft etc and has tons hanging about. i presume you can get it thicker but his is rather thin and would need a weave of about three I guess.
He weaves a wrist strap which seems a standard pattern but a bit inflexible for a camera strap.

Well a Google later I'm not far off: For the Neck Survival Camera Strap you get over 12 feet of 550 7 strand para cord,“single strand to four strand weave”.

Not comfortable. Too small in diameter and will dig into you. If it happens to slide across your skin with some weight on it it will burn your skin.

I have a woven paracord bandolier strap, and a couple of woven wrist straps, I don't have a problem with any of them.

It is stiff at first, but becomes more flexible, like anything else.

I use poly or nylon multi strand woven cord. Typically 1/4-1/2 inch depending on the weight of the camera. Super soft and forgiving, lots of colors, easy to bind and sew onto, a good bic lighter seals the ends.

Lots of small timers making these sort of straps, give one a try!

I made one, it was tedious and took a few days. I think for a wrist strap it would be fine, but for a "normal" strap it is kind of thin. In fact, I'm thinking of converting mine into a wrist strap because I prefer traditional type straps for around the neck.
