Last weekend , I had to attend a joint Grandaughters' Birthday party with their friends and attendant groan ups .

All are aware of my dee'scomfort with ' people ' socialising etc , and just leave me alone , not expecting or demanding interaction .

I had set up my cameras - L1 40 / 150 [ equ 80 / 300 ] at 1st floor window , G1 CV 35 Color Scopar indoors , Sony A290 kit zoom for outside , and spent the time dashing around taking snapshots .

The dee'sturbing dee'sruption of GID with Him / Her was not alleviated , but the act of dee'stancing myself through the window , and helping frame and contain the confusion and lostness of ASDee.

It's ever been this way , but this was the 1st time I have been aware of how snapshots and cameras create a safe zone [ interrupted for food , naturally ].

Just another take [ groan ] on the flexibility and potential haven of photography .

Thanks, Dee... Interesting err reflection on through-window photography... and I'd guess that separation from the partiers might strengthen the separation brought by use of the camera. There is certainly something hard to define about photographing, in seeing the world as a framed subject...
