Parting with old friends

I am finally ready to part with my SLR collection of Canon goodies. I have collected a few great items, and I know this is a RF forum, but I wanted to offer these to the members here who have been so very helpful to me. (If this post is not allowed, please feel free to delete it.)

The following is a list of some of the items, and if you are interested, or know someone who is interested, have them PM me.

1) Beautiful Canon F-1 New with eye level finder. I have a powerwinder for this as well, and I will include both if you like.

2) Canon AE-1 Program. This camera looks almost new, except for a slight squeak which (even with all the help from cannon junkie) I have been unable to fix.

3) A really great 50mm f2.8 macro that is awsome. I used this to take some flower pics that my wife just loved! Lens is clear and crisp.

That is all I will list for know, as I don't want to take up all the room here. Feel free to contact me about these or any other Canon items, as I might have something you need. Those Items not sold here will end up on Ebay.

What brand is the 50mm f2.8 Macro is that a Vivitar or Sigma?

Not to be a butt head, :bang:

If this lens is made by Canon then you have the f stop listed incorrectly Canon never made a 50mm f2.8 macro or otherwise that would fit a R, FL or FD body without the use of an adapter and then would not maintain infinity focus.

I think if this lens is a Canon then it is either the 50mm f3.5 Macro which came in both FD and nFD mounts or the earlier 50mm f3.5 FLM in FL mount

BUT it is not a 50mm f2.8 made by Canon the only 50mm f2.8 Canon ever made was for the RF's there were 3 variations of this lens starting in 1955 and being offered until 1960. That's 11 years + before the first Canon FD mount camera hit the market.

SO what is this lens?

You are totally correct, and I apologize for being in such a hurry. As I do most of this stuff at work, it is done rather quickly. You are correct that the lens is f3.5.

I parted with most my Canon SLR EOS stuff and have not regretted it a bit! I keept a USM 300 L - two converters 1,4 an 2 and a 100 mm macro 2,8 + a eos 5 house - that is eneugh for nature/wildLife and insects etc. - For me 35 mm is rangefinder and no looking back 🙂
