Hello... New boy here.

How long can I leave a roll of 120 film (or, indeed, 35mm) on a Paterson spiral in the tank with the funnel locked and sealed before I develop it? Is it likely to work its way off the groove through warping or twisting? Might this depend on the type of film?

Sometimes I get the opportunity to load the spiral but have to wait a while to do the developing - this might be a couple of days. I keep my tank at about room temp and typical North-of-England household humidity.

Welcome to rangefinder forum.

Good question.

I tend to develop film right after loading it into the Paterson tank.

If I don’t I would more than likely forget what film type and speed I used to make the photos is in the tank!

Leaving it in the developing tank doesn’t do any harm. Just don’t take the lid off thinking it’s empty! Something I would probably do!
