Pentax 67 Gas!

Any advice??

My 67 lenses don't seem to quite focus to infinity on my 67II (they do on an ancient 6x7)- is there a relatively easy check/callibration/adjustment (focus screen or mount shim?) or should this go straight to repair or?
Pretty sure it's body not lens as three lenses show same.

make sure the film plate is set to 120 if you're using 120, and 220 if you're using 220...the only other thing that could be off is the lens mount could be a bit too far away from the rest of the camera so make sure it is completely tight. that's about it...

The 67 has some screws to adjust the focus screen. It's pretty straightforward (one just has to remove the frame above it). Don't know about the 67ii but it should also be possible there, as it has user replaceable screens.

I am finalizing my shopping list for my 67 and came accross this one for sale. What is really interesting to me is the hotshoe. I thought that only the 67ii had a hot shoe in the accessory grip and there was no hot shoe option for the 6x7 and 67 the only thing available was the grip and cold shoe.

I have asked the seller but in the meantime does anyone know if it is a Pentax or 3rd party unit and whereI could source one?

edit ... I did actually put a roll of film through it today and couldn't resist photographing it when I got home with it's just aquired genuine hood for the 105mm f2.4 Takumar. (thanks Jim)

Hahaha... Everytime I get into the groove of thinking my 5d is "too big" I ge it and my 6x7 out and put them beside each other. Instant cure.

Your 67ii is seriously nice Keith - and the genuine hood is like the icing on a very beastly cake.

I walked around with it my hand for an hour or so today and I'll swear it made my right arm a centimeter longer! The 67ii has great ergonomics though ... it really does feel like a big version of the D700.

I'm eternally grateful to Barnwulf (Jim) for selling me this camera ... it's absolutely like new and even though I don't use it a lot I just plain love the thing and every time I pick it up to use it, it gives me a huge grin! 😀

There is definitely something likeable about the P67 series... one thing is you know you have a substantial machine in your hands. Certainly not suited to stealthy shooting, but then people seem not to be put off by it either.

That reminds me of the story of a guy who set up his P67 on a busy town street with foot traffic, on massive tripod, with gyroscopic stabilization I think and a 3000mm lens. Just picked out his subjects from a distance, none the wiser.

When I was wandering around today I found a possum snoozing on a shelf in an old shed up the top of the property. He wasn't too concerned about me getting close enough to take his pic and was looking quite relaxed about it all ... until I pressed the shutter!

Another shot from yesterday ... I was so determined to take this pic at f2.4 that I overexposed it a stop which made it a little sparkly in the highlights. It's definitely quite a lens!

So now that I have the 67II, 55mm, 165mm, and 105mm, I have serious GAS regarding the 75mm f/2.8.

Have not seen one for sale and, from what I've read, may never. I don't even know what price it would command and it doesn't seem like many others do either.

Anyone have one tucked away that they wouldn't mind parting with?

This toothless guy was interested in my camera, wondering if it was like a Hasselblad. He said he had a photo project too, snapping BigFoot. He'd met Sasquatches four times in the woods and said some spoke two languages, indian and English, sometimes they just communed with eye contact and gestures.

I got my 67 earlier this week. Wanted to check to make sure it was working properly:

didn't care that it gets dark at 530 (I hate winter),

didn't care that I only had 400 speed film (didn't want to push because I would have to have the negs processed in the city which meant waiting more than 24 hours to see the results which was totally unacceptable)

didn't care that the 67 has a bad reputation of not being hand holdable at any speed much less at 1/15s😱

Here are the results, I know they aren't critically sharp and would not stand up to being enlarged, but I am quite happy with the results and it is an auspicous start to my relationship with "Big Bertha"

No she is not pointing and laughing at the size of the camera in relation to the size of my head. 😀

Both Pentax 67, 105f2.4 @ 2.4 and 1/15s, Portra 400NC

Have you looked at those shots with a loupe, J? I'm just curious. The lowest I've gone so far is 1/60th and I haven't had a chance to examine that day's output carefully yet to determine if that was acceptable.
