Pentax 67 Gas!

I've recently purchased an RB67 for myself, and I am trying to learn to live with it - I find it still difficult to adjust myself to that time-gap between raising the mirror and actual firing of the shutter, but this is no candid camera apparently.. I am only able to work on landscapes and sort of still-lifes as of yet.
And I wonder whether the Pentax is different in this matter.

The P67 lends itself to spontaneity more readily, as it's convenient to hand-hold like a scaled-up 35mm SLR. For better or worse, I've never raised the mirror manually in the 36 years I've been using them!

you might want to hound ebay for a deal on the 105.

that one has "the stuff", or at the very least the samples in this thread suggest that it does.

Got the camera. While I wait for a lens, what do you guys use to carry this monster with? meaning what camera strap?

I just use the factory strap, the black fabric one with PENTAX embroidered in red. It's a wider version of the strap for the 35mm size bodies. KEH should have them.

I almost always use a monopod or tripod. I have a Kirk L bracket (yes it works great on the older Pentex 6x7s). I have an arca clamp on my monopod and tripod. When walking with the camera on the monpod I sling the hole thing over my shoulder.

I can't believe I started this thread then pretty well ignored my 67ii ... such irony!

Well the love affair continues ... I shot a couple of rolls of HP5+ a week or so ago taking some shots of a friend's new baby and it all came back to me. The 67ii is the best camera I own period, the 105mm f2.4 Takumar is the best portrait lens I've ever used ... and HP5+ is a beautiful film!

I quite like this, Jan. Nicely framed and the strong light creates wonderful contrast.

I must say that 6x7 is a wonderful aspect ratio for photography. I think this composition highlights that.
