Pentax 67 Gas!

what camera bag or backpack are you using to haul your pentax 67 kit around? i was scraping by with a leica/billingham combination bag but i need something that can carry two lenses, preferably with one attached to the body.

When I got my second used 6x7, the kit included 45mm and 300mm lenses, 2x converter, and a LowePro Photo Trekker backpack from a wannabe commercial wildlife photographer tamed to a life as a proud papa and architect. 🙂

He made a good choice of the Photo Trekker I think, as it will hold a 6x7 body with the 300mm mounted with the 2x converter with plenty of room for another couple of lenses, meter, etc etc. It's pretty comfortable to pack, though in honesty I've seldom used it.

I've carried mine on day hikes ranging from 1-14 miles.

My kit is a P67, 45 f/4 and 105 f/2.4, 10 lee filter pouch + filter holder, a pentax digital spot meter, and a 105mm polarizer.

I've been using a Burton zoom 26l that I purchased in 2008 to use with a DSLR I had at the time. Honestly for the price its a really good bag, mine still looks brand new. I like that it does not look like a camera bag. The P67 fits in perfectly with the waist level finder but puts a little bump in the back foam with the prism on. It opens up from the back which I think is the easiest way to access your gear. Plenty of pockets for all your other accessories as well.

I think that I'm going to try out a F-Stop Gear "mountain series" bag soon though as they have internal frames so It will move some of the weight to my hips as well as I'd like a little more room to pack rain gear/layers,water pump, a 200 f/4, food, etc. They are expensive, but if you are gonna really use it I haven't seen anything that equals their bags potential.

My Domke F2 contains:
Pentax 6x7 body with 105 attached
200 and 55mm lenses
three color (100x100) and three grad nd filters (150x100) with holders and adapter rings
wire release cable
Sekonic light meter
gaffer tape 🙂
ten rolls of film
lens shades and lens wraps, pens and stuff

when walking around I put the tripod on top of it all, works great!

Pity about Aerochrome indeed. Although Aerochrome was never sold comercially - it was a special order for goverments in need for forest surveys or a camoflaged objects spying, it was strictly a special-purpose film for a very limited market sold on contracts. Apparently only one guy (Dean Bennici) managed to source it & cut 120 rolls out of it and sell for those who knew about this film. Only EIR in 35mm was sold commercially if I remember for a short time.
