Pentaxians... Any out there?

Found a good price for the M 50/1.7 so I snapped it up. My K1000 has the 50/2 but I understand the f1.7 model is considered sharper? Looking forward to using it!

The 50/1.7 is a very good lens, I have it in M and A version and was my main lens in the ME Super decades ago
The A version works with the DSLRs very well, but with the new K3-iii you can use the M and K series lenses as well with light metering.

I am going to take the plunge and try out a K-1 mkII, for a trial period. I have no idea whether I'll be able to take to using such a heavy camera, but I definitely want to see how film era glass from Pentax feels on a FF sensor. I've shot a little on a KP but it's not the same when you're getting a crop.

FIlm era glass is still outstanding!
I use the 50/1.7 and the 28/2.8 regularly; plus a bunch of M42 lenses that are just a joy to use (50s, 17/4 and 105/2.8) in the K3-iii (and K5ii before)
Weight is not that bad! And the viewfinder is great!

PS> I don't count any of the FA/FAJ as film era even though they should be.
Those are hit or miss more than the old ones.
 
I scored this little Spotmatic SP II with the (in)famous Super Takumar 55mm f1.8. Only the self-timer is non-functional. All else works as intended (even the light meter!). I bought it for the lens, and it does not disappoint. First test shots are promising!

Fomapan 100 developed in Rodinal.

Ah, that old chestnut. Radioactive elements (which contained Thorium) rather than coatings, but true none the less. Also true of lots of other Super Takumars from the period, and lots of other manufacturers to boot. Even Leica had some ‘hot’ lenses…
