Any opinions on this camera? It's the 35 Petri Color Corrected Super 2.8.
I just picked up one this past weekend and processed a roll of B&W taken with it. Results look good.

God bless TX and check out this http://www.cameraquest.com/petri35.htm. I've got one but only last week put some B/W film in it and haven't seen anything to shoot yet.

The only bad thing about Texas is the heat.
Mine is the 35 Petri Color Corrected Super 2.8 The Color 35 on the above link is nice but not the same.
The original owner removed for whatever reason most of the leather so I'll have to replace it with some morroco leather I got from Fargo.

I have one Color-Corrected 2.8 and two Automate 1.9. I have yet to take one shot with any of them due to shutter problems on two and film advance troubles on one. All three are in various stages of dismemberment. I purchased each on a whim for beans, but I would sure like to see one of the Automates up and running.

Enjoy yours - cheers!

*edit* pics aren't my cameras

Pertri mad some really nice cameras, I loved my Petri 7s, but sadly they can be quite fragile in the shutter wind/linkage. Just use with care!!

I just picked up another Petri on ebay including a Minolta Hi-Matic 7 for $10 + shipping. Both are advertised as non-working but look good and come with cases and are complete with no stripping of parts. I'll probably get the Hi-Matic up and running first.

The camera in my avatar is a 35 Petri Color Corrected Super 2.8. It was one of the last ones before the green window. I bought mine on eBay. It was my second one. My first one I bought in 1958 at the Base Exchange in Tachikawa, Japan, with my summer savings. I used it for years. Worked fine. I keep threatening to find those Kodachrome slides. My second one is pretty stiff but I hope to get it a CLA someday, for old times sake.

I bought one new back in 1959 or thereabouts. It was my first "good" camera. They are capable of excellent photos. They have a very sharp Tessar type lens which at the time was compared to the Leica lens by the camera shops. One problem that they have is that the helical lubricant appears to breakdown over time and sieze, and also leave a residue on the flat front surface of the rear lens pair. The rear lens pair is fairly easy to remove from the rear of the camera, and I tackled this residue with some toothpaste and paper towel. It took about an hour but I managed to remove most of the residue. After reassembly I took some test shots and the definition was excellent. I have a nunber of nice japanese rangefinder cameras and the Petri is as sharp as any and better that most.
regards, Howard
