Petri 7s - why?

When a Petri 7s could do this in 1963, pointed right into the sun, can someone explain why we crave Leica's for anything other than interchangeable lenses?

7s has good lens surrounded by not so wonderful mechanics and rangefinder. Probably that's why Leica has survived :)
