Well, I'm on my way out of Newark myself, heading to the burbs!!!!
That's why I can't make it, working on all that fun home buying stuff..

Which also means: darkroom/ synth room ( John, already started building my modular, he he)

One of those Jersey flood zones? LOL.

Anyways I escaped the burbs. Never really fit in, although I liked my car culture, fishing and biking, otherwise a boring place.

Imagine styling in a 1980 blue Checker Limo that had a black vinyl top and an opera window that was about a foot longer than a Checker cab (only about 200 factory limos ever made); or how about my 1984 Jeep Scrambler with a Corvette engine (Scramblers were only made for about 3 years, and at the time Jeeps were publicized as being unsafe vehicles. I went with the trend and made it more unsafer. LOL); or the cult classic a Saab 900 (a chick car that disguised that in fact I was just another hose-bag).

Then I also had a 1967 Ford Falcon that truely revealed who I truely was. The Falcon was so rusty that there was no floorboard on the passenger side. The deep maroon color of the original paint blended well with the half of the body that displayed surface rust. When it rained I would get splashed when going through puddles. LOL.

All the vintage bumper stickers: Save the OBI; WLIR; indicated it was a Hippy-Mobile, but I called the Falcon the Dirt-Bag-Mobile. It featured a Yakama roof bike rack that was worth more than the car. Of course the bike rack sported expensive tricked out titanium racing bikes and the Falcon was kinda famous out in the Hamptons. Much cooler than the Mercedes or Porshes with bike racks.

There is a saying: "You know you are a Hill Billy when half the cars you own don't run." LOL. At one point I owned 5 cars.

Fidel,

You suck. I need a darkroom. I have about a decade's worth of printing ahead.

Also know that my guitar, amp and bass collection is being stored at two of my friend's houses out in Long Island. I have a bass amp in Public Storage, and don't forget all these home built tube amp projects.

Also know I want to eventually rebuild my Hi-Fi from a 300B SET to a 2A3 to be used with Lowthers in gigantic folded horns. This gives me an excuse to build a crazier 300B amp.

Anyways I'm imprisoned in a 650 square foot one bedroom apartment.

Part of the Italian market festival is the greased pole. DiBrunos and other retailers hang cheeses, meats, bags of cash from the top of a nearly three story, two foot wide pole greased up with lard. Teams try to climb the pole and score the loot. It will be going on today and tomorrow.

I'll be exploring the moving image street fair tomorrow in Astoria on short notice, as a fishing trip originally planned for this weekend has been cancelled due to the weather forecast.

And Cal,
I finally got the Heliopan "for digital" yellow filter for my Planar and boy does it make a difference in the MM histogram when shooting outdoors in sunny weather. So much richer in the mid tones and at the same time easier to recover highlights that were positively blown with BW filters. THANKS mate, great advice!

I am the best I tell you. LOL.

Also I am mighty clever. LOL.

The original Monochrom with a Heliopan 2X yellow filter marked "DIGITAL" is a deadly weapon. The mids are like medium and sometimes even large format.

Currently I'm impressed with my steel IBIS that I have set up as a Trials bike. For gearing I have 30 inch gears which means for one crank stroke the bike only moves 30 inches forward. Pretty much a gear to do wheelies. Anyways this bike is now set up for rock hopping and tricks.

Proves you don't have to go fast to do dangerous things on a bike.

I normally am offline on the weekends, but I stopped by work with my bike to use a vise, and I ordered some tubes and tires to fully rig this new dangerous bike.

Also looks like the chance of rain has diminished.

Last night I was a bit disappointed by the IQ of this series of shots that I took of a cell-block of individual cells. The utilization of 800 ISO and slow shutter speeds will limit print size. Oh-well.

Today I figured out that this will be a great series, where the contrast between the cells is really the artifacts, the glow of the lighting, and the differences and similarities of disarray.

I originally intended to use these images as blocks to print combined images together into a 24 inch wide poster that can be longer than 36 inches. Basically a block of smaller images displayed as multiples in a modular manner.

Understand that I used a 28 Cron and shot vertically to capture the interior of each cell for a few cell blocks as a modular shot.

Now I see the possibility of perhaps making a print 17 inches wide and perhaps 50 feet long that might use an entire roll of paper, if I have enough images.

It will be interesting to see how our images differ Cal...since I also used 28mm and went vertical. That might be the issue... is how many people have made similar images?

There is only one Calzone and I'm sure my style will be distinct. Also since I do B&W and shoot a Monochrome I suspect that my images will have their own flavor.

Many thanks for doing the arrangements for the tour. I think some new work will come of this. Perhaps this is the time where I'll get/hoodwink one of my buddies to teach me how to post.

I print.

I'm sure that there will be some great prints. The files look great on my EIZO, although the ones of the cells I'll have to restrict the print size due to slow shutter speeds. I don't push ISO above 800 generally.

I'm really inspired to do something with the series of cells I captured. They look both dreamy and night-mary.
