Well-known
"preserved ruin" is a good description of what we will see.
Cal, ESP has been cleaned up, but it's definitely not the Highline! I remember ridding my bike up on the Highline in 70s and early 80s. ESP is popular as a tourist destination, a movie set, and of course, a piece of history. I've been to ESP quite a few times, mostly in the 1990s. It was then pretty much untouched by the powers that maintain it, only to make areas safe from falling debris. I can remember signing a waiver or two on a couple of visits. I'm sure there will be areas that are as they were. Al Capone's old cell is a little treat.
If I could, I would join you, but weekends are for family and a long bike ride or two. You all will have a great time.
Any women going on this?
It's been a while -- it's Yong here. A query to Cal or John or anyone who may remember me: I am looking to borrow a wide-lens camera for about an hour to shoot interiors sometime in the next few days. Nothing fancy--and doesn't have to be very wide either. Anyone can help out? No remuneration in mind, but a heap of gratitude and, if you want a homemade tart of choice, you've got it. Downtown Manhattan & can pick up/drop off. Let me know! Thanks!
And you can use a tripod!
Maybe I will go out on a limb and haul my MF kit...
Randy
Randy,
It could be good, but perhaps not the best for low light. The tour is only an hour, so quick shooting handheld might be better.
For me this might be just surveying the location. I will return if I find an interesting opportunity.
Cal
Phillipe is in.
I PM'ed him because we basically had a run on the reserved seating.
If anyone here is lurking know that about 5 minutes ago only two $1.00 priced reserved seats were left on the 6:50 NYC departure. The trip home is less booked.
Anyways I will start a list:

I just told Brian about this trip. Hopefully he is able to reserve a seat.

Ok, I have to ask Cal, how so?
The Italian Market Festival is this weekend, 21st and 22nd.
It might be worth checking out.
