Thinking about this some more, I doubt the photo software company would be seeing an RFF as a sales channel or particularly for PR. If I were them I'd be looking at it as a way of engaging with an informed, active community of users of such software and to be able to gain both feedback on their own products and insight into future designs/products based on the content of discussions - so more an R&D opportunity for them than sales and marketing.
They'll be pretty quick to assess whether the content they receive is worthwhile, so it may be worth Stephen articulating something about the exit plans being put in place - on both sides. RFF users could be left high and dry if they pull the plug, but equally Stephen should have the ability to terminate at his discretion.

No computer, No software, No preference.
I vote No.
We have enough dead sub-forums already, off topic as it is.
Does RFF get a spot on their site!?
Better throw a claus in their Stephen, snag a few new members.

Great idea!
It would help bring folks together with the software company.

I think it could be a good idea, properly moderated of course.
Another forum that I frequent maintains subforums for two small independent software develop groups. It has always functioned well and the subforums don't intrude on other topical subforums.

You can discuss any maker's products in the existing software forums. That would not change.
The new forum would only be about this one brand, as their techs are only able to answer questions on their own products.

Thanks for the clarification. I never visit specific Forums. I only look at the most recent threads. So, I didn't even remember SW Forums already existed!
I like this idea since members why use that platform could interact and learn.

I would enjoy seeing the addition. If it has value folks will use it, if it does not then members will not frequent the threads.
Good luck with the business venture and your decision Stephen.
..... and thanks for asking.
