Pretty crappy picture to begin with. Not what I would call "photojournalism". More like what we used to call a "firing squad photo"--stand 'em against the wall and shoot them.

Anyway, the cropping was a stupid thing to do.
 
Extremely lazy shot. I can understand not wanting the building in the shot, so the photog should have moved to the left before pressing the shutter.

I'm not buying the "the photographer cropped the photo for a better composition" nonsense.

These types of photos are bread and butter for working PJ's- the meet and greet PR photos are a natural part of the job. This photographer should know better.
 
Well, it would be a better photo cropped... that`s true, but you have to know better than to do it in this circumstance.
 
Very odd. If you take photo of this kind, you better know who is in the picture.
And you have to take better than this photos.
If you cut like in this case and know what they are all the same, it is very stupid.
Especially in this case. You are moron who triggers "whites only".

Perhaps it is typical snafu, one interim was sent to take picture, another was editing it. While big guns are busy after megzit.
 
Philosophically there is no true objectivity. This is one of the ethical reasons I left photojournalism for a career in a helping profession.
