Finally got around to sorting through some of the stuff I shot In Helsinki in July. There's still loads more to go, but here's some for now. All are Bessa R + Color Skopar 35/2.5 + Kodak BW400CN, and as always, more on my flickr. Some basic PS, levels and contrast.

July is the perfect time for shooting in Helsinki (or amy of the Nordic countries) - plenty of light and a lot of sunshine. Winters are strictly for high speed lenses and film pushed to within an inch of its life!
Tuulikki is from Finland (Turku and Helsinki) and I lived there for a couple of years. Nice to see "home town" shots!

ouch, a little flare. Helsinki - i stayed at the Intercontinental a few decades ago. They had a sauna on the top floor and a huge window that opened up to the city. tks.

I must say that the light in HKI is very special, not like I've experienced elsewhere. It is hard to put my finger on why, but it is fantastic light, regardless of the reason.July is the perfect time for shooting in Helsinki (or amy of the Nordic countries) - plenty of light and a lot of sunshine.

Some from Tampere
We took a day out to Tampere, to go to a museum there.
We then found a great Chinese buffet restaurant just behind a square in the main shopping area.
My godparents paid for the meal.
