Aun Twan Bui, aka Kao Boi?

Not sure what that means, but it's a photo of my good friend.

Anh Tuan Bui (corrected spelling) would be his name, and aka (also known as) would be his nickname of Kao Boi (cowboy). That is, if it's the same person I knew in Blacksburg, VA. He was Army Airborne, and ran a camera shop across the road from a Kroger grocery store. Also did a stint on the CBS Survivor show. If it's him, tell him I said Hi!

Sorry, that's my friend Dave. Here he is sighting the Lick Observatory with his telescope.

As I can see. Anh Tuan has a more wiry build. Since I don't do Facebook, I haven't been able to find a way to get in contact with him. He came back to Virginia for a while, but then left for California, and that's where I lost track. Last photos I saw he was swimming with some dolphins, having a good time.

Just bumming around the county on a cold winter day in January, 2018 with the Nikkormat FT2 sporting a Nikkor-S 35/2.8, on Fuji Acros 100.

Recent Nikkormat (FT2) owner and very happy with my purchase.
I want a 50mm pre-ai lens to use with it, and have a choice between a f2 H Auto, f2 H.C Auto and a f1.4 S.C Auto
I'll be shooting both B&W and Colour, are the 'C' multi-coated versions essential in this case ? Otherwise I'd be tempted to pick up the 'H' as it's at a nice price and comes with a hood.

Nikon started multi-coating lenses in 1972 and began marking those lenses with a "C". If the Nikkor HC 50 2.0 has a knurled metal focusing ring, it was made between 1972 to 1974 and is a very nice lens. Any of the Nikkor H 2.0 are excellent lenses and if you look through this posting you will see that is the lens used to take many of the images. The Nikkor SC 50 1.4 is a good lens. Not as sharp as the 2.0 being a little soft at the edges but is was a popular option for a primary lens and there are a lot of them out there. Enjoy your FT2, it was one of the first Nikons to make the change to silver oxide batteries.

I also chose the "plain" Nikkor-H version for budget reasons. I have some B&W and color examples in this Flickr album, and there are also many wonderful examples on this thread as mentioned. I don't have a hood, so you can judge whether the lack of coating results in any unsatisfactory results for your taste.
