This lens and the Zuiko are as good as it gets in 85mm for me. I'll have to start looking for one again..

I have one in Contax mount and it's an absolutely phenomenal lens - almost hard to believe it's like 65 years old or something.

eBay is having one of those weekends where you don't pay listing fees, perfect time for a shelf clearance.. I already bought an S2 with 50/2 last night and I have an eye on a 85/2 though I might hold out for a black barrel. And of course I haven't sold a damn thing yet.. my GAS putting me under pressure here!

This lens just has an awesome signature. Such nice bokeh. What aperture was this shot at, f2.8-f4?

Yeah, it produces really nice images. The only downside is its weight, all brass and glass. I can't remember exactly, but either f/2.8 or f/4. Probably f/4.

All wide-open, The EXIF is all over the place.
The 8.5cm f2 is very good, Pop Photo did tests comparing it with the AF-Nikkor 85/1.8 about 20 years ago. The new lens had a small edge. These shots- very low light, ISO 10,000 and the last, 1/25th sec. The long focus throw is an advantage for focusing a fast lens.

My black barrel LTM version is off getting oil cleaned off the aperture blades, but once it's back in my grubby paws, hopefully I'll be contributing to this thread. The Nikkor is the very first "longer than 50mm" lens I've ever been seduced into buying for my rangefinders. Simply exquisite.
