THIS (CLICK HERE) is the results of a contest that started in the Classic Camera forum in Photo.net.

It's nice to see these people not only talk about old cameras; they use them too... And the little things have a lot of life left in them.

Pretty much like us, who talk about and shoot with old cameras... :)

Yeah, I only heard about this contest when it was already to late to get my shots in before the deadline.
There are a few people from RFF who post there, too, BTW. And they also started not one but two 'camera around the world' projects - first came 'Hal wants tor travel the world' - that is, an old, half-broken Halina Paulette viewfinder camera is sent around (I was the first one to get it, my pics with it are in the 'Hal comes to Vienna' thread: http://www.photo.net/bboard/q-and-a-fetch-msg?msg_id=00BSLw - though those pics are far below the quality of the contest pics), and then Mike Elek started a second project of that kind, with a lot of people signed up already.

Fascinating! Thanks Francisco. I really enjoyed checking to see what cameras were used. Of course, I did look at some of the photos too. :D

Oscar, I think I saw you over there at the classic cameras forum once in a while - I guess if you want to, you could still participate in the 'Hal wants to see the world' thing, the Halina is currently in Germany, just PM me and I'll pass your e-mail address on to Andrea (who is the owner of the camera).

David Richert has posted the winners of the Classic Camera Contest. For those with modest cameras -- a Brownie 620 box camera made an Honarable Mention.

But wait! There's more!

Dave is planning another contest for classic cameras. He is thinking of a contest using cameras from the 1950s. Let's see...My FEDs are too new (1960s), my Speed Graphic is too old (1940s) but my Brownie Hawkeye and Meopta Flexaret (1950s) are just right. So is my Agfa Isolette II but it's in pieces.
