You guys keep this up, and you will have me shelling out for the new Elmar-M! I did pick up a nice f/2.8 bayonet, mount Elmar from, I guess, the '70's; and I have the 3.5 Elmar in screw mount for my IIIc. They are fine lenses, too!

Here are two-
detail nice and crisp right out into the corners- this is at about 4 or 5.6 if I recall.
Here, wide open shooting pretty much right into the sun, only a slight bit of flare.

No, this is the 'Elmar-M look'

You're right, focussed on the window shade at the MFA in Boston. Nice detail right into the corners.

Got it!
The lens came today. I ended up paying $585 and it is "like new"! I think that's a pretty good price, isn't it? I hope to get some time out with it this weekend. It looks sooo natural on my black chrome M6 TTL too.
That's encouraging to hear about not using the hood, as I would rather not use it if it doesn't matter much. I think I'll try a test and see how much I can get away with.

sepiareverb said:I've got both and use 'em both about equally. I often take the Elmar-M when heading to the city to have the more compact kit. With the hood it's not that much more compact, but the hood isn't really needed, as this is a pretty flare-free lens.
