Pics with Fujifilm GFX

Fun with my wannabe digital XPAN camera

(in other words, my GFX50R with aspect ratio set at 65:24)

You have the Voigtlander 21mm f3.5 right? That lens on the GFX covers 65:24 and is almost the exact same FOV as the Xpan with the 45mm. In 1x1 it is same FOV as the SWC. Very fun lens on the GFX.

Hi Shawn, I don't have the VM 21mm f3.5 (yet). What mount adapter are you using to go from GF to M mount?

Mike

I don't have the GFX any more but I had a couple of different adapters. The worst was the Novoflex, it was way too thin and had to be shimmed quite a bit to get it closer to proper. The inexpensive TTArtisan was closer to correct. Obviously, not all lenses will cover the entire sensor but if you are using some of the other ARs they can work well.

The Voigtlander is a tiny little lens on the GFX

but worked well in 1:1 and 65:24

Hi Shawn, thank you for the quick and very informative response; much appreciated!

Mike

Very nice, Mark, well done. What tripod and tripod head are you using?

All the best,
Mike

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the comment.

I just had a Manfrotto Befree travel tripod with a small Manfrotto ballhead with me on the beach. It's the aluminium version not carbon, but still very light and folds up really small. As I recall there was not actually much weight difference between them, but considerable price difference. It was very windy this day and I was expecting to have problems with shake, but it all worked out fine with 20 second exposures (it was extremely bright and I couldn't get longer) . The head is code MH-496-BH. I was sceptical about using this with a heavy camera like the GFX but is was fine.

Best,
Mark
