Thanks to the responses from this forum, it helped me make up my mind to get the M7 with 50mm Summicron. Have only put one roll through it so far, but I really like it. Here are a couple first pics. Hope I figured out how to do attachments. These were shot on Ilford XP2 400 scanned on Coolscan 5000ED. Thanks again to those who replied to my original post. See you around.

nice shots, they seem very sharp.

did you rate the film at 400 when shooting?
many rate it at 200, develope normally and produce some nice results.

Hi Chris - I was one of the guys egging you on to buy it - hope you're happy, these look good! :)

Were you using AE mode when you took these?

Yes, so far I am very happy with it. I hope my nikon gear doesn't get too dusty! Yes I was using automatic mode on this first roll as I do not have an off camera meter yet.

Nice shots Cbrown ! :)

Joe, I do that often (rate it at 200) and it does give it a bit more "punch" in the contrast dept. :D

Cheers,
Dave

My Nikon gear has been gathering dust ever since I got my first RF! :) Chris I've been testing the AE mode on my own M7. I hope you don't mind if I post one of my own pictures below, but I very recently got a 135mm/f4 Tele-Elmar to use with my new M7 (it has a 0.85 mag). The attached pic was taken with slanting sunlight coming in from a low window behind me and to the left. I thought the AE did pretty well on the exposure. The shot was taken wide-open at f4 - this lens looks pretty good to me...
