well, in hungarian my "first" name is Józsa. But that's my family name. I guess you want me to use Csaba.
In english, that' s Csaba, by the way.
In italian, however, it's Csaba, while in french it is Csaba. For a change, in german it is Csaba (Herr Jozsa for Socke), but in Spanish it is simply Csaba. In dutch it is Csaba, would you have guessed it?

Anyway, i thought Pherdinand was cute and less confusing. It is Pherdinand for all the nations, more or less.

When I got to college in 1996, I was able to pick any username I wanted (whereas many schools lock you into specific forms such as achen or allanc, or even abc123). So I picked kaiyen, which is basically my chinese name.

I became heavily involved in various concert groups, specifically with those folks that audio tape them. I decided that I would go _only_ by kaiyen - my e-mail program was set to just kaiyen, I signed posts as kaiyen, etc. I even went to just "k." for a while. Eventually, I became known as just kaiyen, even when I met people. Even after I told people my real name they still called me kaiyen. I answer to it now. Most of the hits on google for "kaiyen" that _aren't_ some anime character that's risen to prominence in the last 3 years are me.

The funny thing is that I never used that name growing up - it was a concession to my grandparents.

I've since decided to actually sign things with my given name, but it's kinda fun to have that in the background. And I've noticed that it's been convenient for some folks here and on apug to refer to me as kaiyen, to differentiate me, I guess.
