Hi..could you please disable/cancel/remove my account? I don't see a way of doing it. Also, please delete my gallery and all the pictures on this site. I'm off to find a new forum and discussion site.

Thanks for the good times and good luck with your site.

Bill

Bill, it doesn't get any better than this place. Some bumps in the road anywhere. If you want to see brutal, check out photo.net. Peace, brother.

I can't speak for the man, but I suspect he is going through a rough patch right now. Lost his job, his dad is sick, car busted, and now he is being told that only authentic 'rangefinder' photos go into the photo gallery.

Mr. Blanchard, please hang in there. If you have to take some time off RFF, please return when you feel better. I believe you will find a welcome here. And my offer still stands to help you find work if you wish to email me for my addy and send me a resume. I'll do what I can. I pray for good things for you in this time of difficulty. I am sure everyone else here does likewise.

Best Regards,

Bill Mattocks

wblanchard - anyone on any forum has a right to leave at any time they wish for any reason. And to do it without explanation. Being here, as other forums, is strictly voluntary.

That said, it would be a kindness to let us know what has caused this, even in general terms. At least to know if something occurred from the forum. It is obvious that most here like your photos and are sympathetic with your recent situation. I think any who posted to your notice about your job problem would help if they could. Some offered to do so. I myself have been questioning some people I know to see if they would be interested in contacting you to offer freelance work. I am willing to bet others have too. Probably like me they haven't said anything as there has been no positive reply yet.

I guess I am trying to point out the obvious: that you can leave without explanation, but if someone here has said something to cause you to make that decision, please reconsider. From what I could see in your other post you are liked and respected by the majority of posters here. I know I do. If something has been said, it must have been misinterpreted or be an aberation. Certainly not something supported by the majority here.

I hope you remain a contributing member of the forum. If you continue to choose not to, God bless you and God speed on all your pursuits. You remain in my prayers.

I was going to post this earlier but must say it now: the tone of this forum is just great. There are so many forums out there where people get into heated and nasty battles over nothing and here's a forum where people are civil and a man like Bill even offers to try to help another forum member find work.

After all, forums like this are here for informational purposes but they're also a cyber version of getting together at a diner in the morning over coffee and just chatting about things that interest us. In that vein, RFF has got to be my favorite set of forums.

Bill, I don't known why you are leaving and frankly its none of my business. But I wish you well and hope you come back. I also hope that you're able to make your living through pictures. (I believe you said that's what you want to do now.) Although I certainly don't have all the answers, I have been a professional photographer for quite awhile so if I can be helpful to you with advise please feel free to e-mail me off-list.

Cheers,

Sean

oftheherd, read the thread about the rules (i mean william's reply to that).

Ahh, I see. It's a protest against the new rules. Good man, Bill. I've always liked a rebel.

Peace,
Huck

To be specific, here is what Bill Blanchard wrote in the "Gallery rules in place. Please read" thread:

"Well guys, I guess this means I'm off this board and over to the leica-forums website.

My Leica Digilux 2 is somewhat of an odd duck. rangefinder/digital/viewfinder....who knows. I just don't fit in anywhere...I do think its funny that this board will have a digital thread to for the Epson though...I know...its a rangefinder....ok, off to delete my gallery! Hopefully, some of you will visit me at the leica-forums.

I'm hoping they won't find it strange that I have Voigtlander optical finders mounted on the camera and shoot it like a rangefinder.
See you all on the flip side.
Bill"

Hi: I am new to the forum, but could not help but read Mr Blanchards post
regarding his situation. Anyone who loses his job in this economy is in for a tough time. I was out of work for over 6 months in the Telecom business in the
80's myself. Keep up your spirits, dont get depressed, the new job could
happen tomorrow!! I'll pray for you to get over this.

Sorry to see Mr. Blanchard go. I also shoot with a D2, I considered it to (mostly) fit the RF spirit. OK, I had one photo on in the gallery shot with the D2, and I've since removed it. I'll stick with the strict definition, and put up shots only from my true RFs.
Mr. Blanchard, I know you are fallen on hard times---- "This too shall pass"---- If you want to stick with us here and need to pick up a rangefinder, I'll be happy to send you one of mine, no charge. PM me if you are interested.

I'm not sure if I should be patting anyone on the back at such a time, but I am humbled and heartened by the show of support to Mr Blanchard.

Sorry everyone. I didnt have a chance to respond to the questions right away, family emergency stuff going on. I've been trying for the past four days to edit or post to my gallery and every time i sign in...it wont let me do anything in the gallery area. I've sent message for support and never received a reply...i have so many images with my zorki-6 that i wanted to post and share...but i cannot seem to get any help. so out of frustration, i decided to go to photo.net or freds site and start posting my images there. I was upset over that and with everything going on with my father....i apologize. its been a bad week for me. Im sorry Jorge. can i still stay?

Of course you can stay, Bill! We were all a bit shocked about your sudden disappearance, but considering your personal situation we can all relate to how you must feel. Take some time off from RFF, take time to get things sorted at home, and please come back when you feel up to it. It's like with pizza... sometimes enough is enough! :)

Cheers, mate! And welcome back!

I think I had too much of one of these two things in the picture this morning.
:)

Welcome back, Bill!

Having been forced into "retirement" 2X in the past three years
I'll agree it's no fun. But, keep the faith brother-it will work out.
