Thanks Rick. Im sharing my early "retirement" with my retired cat of 15 years. He looks up at me and I just know he's saying, "Get out and find a job. This is my couch!" :D

He's a retired mouser. Now he lays around and if a spider, fly, etc...crawls in front of him...he looks at it for a second, then lays his head back down. Lazy cat! :)
 
I too was 'forced into retirement' due to a back injury at the tender age of 36! I haven't worked for over 11 years and it's pretty boring. I now suffer from arthritis too.

I have had a crap start to the new year with one thing or another and then to top it all I buried my father only 2 days ago.

Hopefully, all will return to a state of normality for you soon and you will be able to put the bad times behind you.

Thanks Paul. Sorry to hear about your Father. Mine just suffered a massive heart attack and had a quad heart bypass. The worst thing in my life was getting called at 2am in the morning and being asked permission to do procedures that could either save or kill my Dad. He has survivied and now he needs to learn how to walk again, eat, etc. Very hard on him because he golfed everyday and went to tournaments. Now he cannot even stand with any balance by his bed.

At least my side business of wedding photography is picking up a little. I have to keep the chin up, as they say.

Yes, I finally did it. After several cookie deletions and shutting off my zone alarm..it let me.

I was lucky in that my condition was discovered prior to having a heart attack. I had triple bypass. In my case, and from what I understand, even those who have actually had a heart attack, you usually feel much better after the surgery. When the heart feels better, the whole body does. Big heart attacks are different for sure. Still, I bet your father is the sort that won't let that get him down, and will just need patience and encouragement to get back to as much movement as his condition will allow. Sounds like he is a tough bird to me. Sounds like his son is too.

I too, used to do wedding photography for a number of years for a local studio. I was out most Saturdays. I packed that in too when I injured my back. Shame really as I still get asked now and again. Couldn't risk letting the happy couple down on their big day though. It also helped to pay for my hobby gear so now I don't have the cash to splash!

Having said that, I am off to a camera fair on Sunday 13th Feb so I will try to find the odd litle bargain if possible.

This forum is obviously about so much more than RF cameras! The issue of defining RF camera photos seems trivial compared to this.

Bill... Don't worry, the RF police won't search your house looking for incriminating evidence.

If that were to happen... we'd have to take joe in for questioning!

Bill - I saw the shots you posted on photo.net and they were awesome. "our Lady of Peace" is special. I'm glad your back.

Brian - One of my favorite photos in the gallery is one you took of your daughter with the f/0.95; the narrow DOF created a stunning shot. All the best to her as she continues to grow and get better.

And to all who are going through a rough patch, hang in there, friends.
