Somehow missed this post, but yeah something like that but with a trigger winder like a Leicavit or Rapidwinder. F1.4 would be amazing but even f2.8 would be welcome compared to Mamiyas f4 lenses. The leaf-shutter is a crucial detail I missed. Option to switch aspect ratios mid roll would be sweet too, but could live with either 6x7 or 6x9.

I would say that an RF that could accept the Pentax 67 lenses would be a nice addition. But those lenses would have to be far away from the film plane and defeat the purpose of an RF... Some of those Pentax lenses are cheap and can be fast, the 105 F2.4 is great as is the 75mm F2.8.

I think the fastest MF lens is F2 for 6x6 (Zeiss and Schneider make them).

Set the focus first. It's not like the length of the selfie stick will change.

Leica M5 that was the size of M3/M2/M4, with the finder relocated all the way to the side (M5 is quite inboard), with the FM3a-style full AE mode w/ mechanical backups, and a more elegant match-needle metering system.

the spot-metering is pretty awesome, but the metering stalk is awkwardly implemented.

I'd like a contax T3 with dedicated aperture/shutter speed dials to allow full manual control. The manual focus control via a ring around the base of the lens including f-stop and distance markings. Center 'spot focus' box in the viewfinder for AF/AE and electronic rangefinder reading to confirm camera to subject distance. Make the lens f2, silent 1/2000 max shutter, quite film advance motor, any color you want as long as you want black. The feel in hand would be like that of a solid chunk of machined brass.

I would pay for an 28mm version of the Canonet perhaps. Would have to be 2.8 I guess. (Would love faster, but I'm assuming we can't change physics in this game. 2.0 would be huge.) And yes, I do need a rangefinder with 28mm. I am terrible at estimating distances.

The camera I have wanted for years is a mechanical 6x7cm (maybe 6x9 too) rangefinder built like a Leica. My Mamiya 7iis are amazing....but if they were built like my M6s, had the same features, and could accept something like a Rapidwinder I think they would be perfect. Problem is such a camera would probably weigh a few tons.

Yes they are called the Rapid Omega and they do, in fact, weigh a ton.

I'm watching to see how the Lomo LC-A 120 turns out - that may give me some more medium format ideas.

Finally, a well-made camera with a full exposure range and a decent lens that takes Instax Wide film. There's no reason in principle that Fuji couldn't offer this, but they probably think nobody is willing to pay $750 for an Instax camera instead of $75.

A Nikon DSLR, with the D4s sensor, in a body the exact same size as that of the FM3. It would have the same physical controls as the FM3, with a touchscreen menu for other controls and features. Design of the UI would be managed entirely by a group of photographers who make their living in photojournalism.
