Please describe a never made film camera you'd love to buy new right now...

Juan. Can you do 25mm? This seems somewhat close:

25mm Snapshot Skopar (clicks at 1m, 1.5m, 3m)
25mm finder
Bessa L (up to 1/2000)

Hi Brian,
I do something close to that, my 28 skopar on my Bessa T: small and light, at f8 all the time... Clicks would be great, though...
I'd like to close my angle a bit: to me 25 is maybe a bit wide for street...
I mean I'd have to be as close to subjects as to scare them, and that was invented by a great photographer and flasher named Bruce Leelden, and I wouldn't be able to imitate him...
Cheers,
Juan

I think Nikon and Leica both made perfect cameras just before they had to start all over with digital. The F5 and MP. I would love an MP but in reality I don't think it would get much use. But I would still like to have one.

Maybe something like a GF670, but smaller, and perhaps a mechanical shutter. Really though, the GF670 / Bessa III is very close to perfect for my needs.

For me, accurate TTL framing is crucial, more important than stealthy quiet. But since we're dreaming, how about a very compact film SLR with ultra-quiet mirror & shutter. And some sort of universal mount that will permit adapting almost any film-era Japanese lens system.

My dream camera would be a Leica that shoots 6x9 with interchangeable leaf-shutter lenses. And while we're dreaming, make those lenses fast - F1.4.

One of my dream cameras is a 120 camera with auto-focus, removable lenses, not digital nut metering but behind the lens metering, it could be either a SLR or but better RF. In other words, a more robust BessaR or M mount Bessa with AF, and in 120. This is a niggle but the ability to also work if the battery dies.

Titanium Nikon F3 with the Fm3a's hybrid mech/electronic shutter, a needle meter read-out with selectable spot/center pattern and an LED backlight that works, plus a quiet shutter.

The camera I have wanted for years is a mechanical 6x7cm (maybe 6x9 too) rangefinder built like a Leica. My Mamiya 7iis are amazing....but if they were built like my M6s, had the same features, and could accept something like a Rapidwinder I think they would be perfect. Problem is such a camera would probably weigh a few tons.

Somehow missed this post, but yeah something like that but with a trigger winder like a Leicavit or Rapidwinder. F1.4 would be amazing but even f2.8 would be welcome compared to Mamiyas f4 lenses. The leaf-shutter is a crucial detail I missed. Option to switch aspect ratios mid roll would be sweet too, but could live with either 6x7 or 6x9.
