Just let the mods delete them and ban the IP range they came in from.

Thank you,

William

Sorry guy's, but the whole aim of this site as of late has been to attract as many hits as possible - and this is just a by product of "Making the Big Time". I'm not saying that means it is time to leave,or to feed the trolls/spammers - just that with mass popularity it is inevitable. It sucks, but it's the way it is.

Sorry, I'm a bit out of the loop... is there a spam problem, that is, people are signing up with the sole intent of placing useless advertisements on the site or are there members trolling the site by making useless posts with the intent of stirring things up?

This form of spam is as automated as any other form, the spammers themselves won't see an effekt other than increased sales.

That's why you have to read random characters from a computer generated image and enter those in a formfield to sign on on some forums. This will help until the spammers integrate character recognition software in their automated sign-on systems.

And do click the little "up arrow" box below your avatar box in a post to report any spam thread. This sends an email to the mods and Jorge and makes it very easy for us to find the offending threads and deal with them.

By their wild long hair, the warts on their noses, their filthy habits, they live in caves....
Seriously, by combative, dissension provoking posts. When you want to jump on your keyboard to cut a stupid, provoking idiot down to size, that is likely to be a troll, so dont send that reply as that is what he wants.

Another bump is needed tonight.

No reaction is always best. Just let the mods delete the ads and go about your merry way.

I find that they go byebye faster without useless, if enjoyable, taunts. That's the real purpose here. Just hit the up arrow and move on.
