Please recommend a small digital camera

Today I had finally decided that the Panasonic LF-1 is the best compromise, combining nearly all of the features I want in a genuinely pocket sized camera at a reasonable price.
But then I noticed the TZ60 (ZS40 in the US) which seems to have the same sensor and evf combined with a 30x zoom range starting at 24mm equivalent. How did I miss this one?

Ok it has some features I don't need, such as GPS and WiFi and a few other gimmicks (what is focus peaking?). But RAW capability might be useful, and the body has a few metal bits which gives a nice solid feel.

Is this the one for me?

jsrockit, I'm aware that the first RX100 is cheaper, but perhaps you didn't read my original post. My top priority is a viewfinder.

A few years ago I bought a Sony Nex 5. The first time I took it out was a lovely sunny day and I found a beautiful stretch of canal locally. I couldn't wait to try out the sleek looking NEX5. But I simply couldn't see the screen. I had to get back into the car to try to read the menu to change the settings, but I didn't have my reading specs with me and I gave up in the end. I was very tempted to throw the thing in the canal, but instead I sold it the following week. It was one of the very few cameras I've owned which I really hated.
