Please suggest a creamy, smooth B&W film

I've had results that sound like what is asked from quite a few different films.

Neopan 400 does it for me in medium format, not so much in 35mm (where I still really like it, but the grain is more obvious). Actually, tbh, lots of films give this look from medium format where the larger film size works to your advantage.

Pan F+ and Acros, too. I have trouble getting good results developing Pan F+ but my local mini-lab does a great job with it, and many of my favourite shots have been on Pan F+.

I develop both Neopan 400 and Acros in Adox ADX.

I've also had really good results from Classic Pan 200, in Perceptol (or rather a Perceptol clone) 1+3.

I really like chromogenics, Kodak BW400CN, XP2 and Fuji's Neopan400CN but that doesn't sound like what the poster wants.

When I thought of creamy, in relation to photographic films, the first films that came to mind for me were Plus-X and APX 100. PlusX has that smooth wide and fat mid-range, and APX 100...well it's just gorgeous all the way around. It seems to excel on the high end where it gets glow-y (creamy?). Is there a better film for catching/defining speculars and near-speculars?

:)
