Plus-x!

Ok, just got about 90 rolls of recently expired Plus-X (120) for very cheap. I'll be using it mostly in my Fuji RF's (and Rolleiflex TLR).

I have some decent experience with this film getting some nice results in Rodinal and even in Diafine (night street shots).

But now that it looks like I'll be using this awesome classic film for quite a while would love to hear other's experiences and recommendations on developers and development techniques with Plus-X.

Thanks.

You might want to try D-76, diluted 1:1. I have used that combo for over a very long time. It gives a nice tonal range, medium contrast.

Thanks Cary. Good start time recommendation? Or just DigitalTruth.com times?

I used Plus-X for many years, but haven't for a while, not since the new emulsion was formulated. I almost always ran it in D-76 1:1 as well, and also had excellent results with Microdol-X 1:1(maybe?) 1:3 (definitely).

I just bought a bunch to try it again myself, but haven't loaded any yet.

Thanks for the comments so far. I like D-76 and use it 1:1 with Delta 100, Tri-X and Acros (sometimes). Will be mixing a batch up tonight. I have a box of Perceptol around too. Based on it and Microdol-X being fairly similar I might try some of the Plus-X in that too.

Ditto on the D76 1:1 with Plus X. I've recently started playing around with HC-110 which yields nice results with HP5 and Tri-X. I've got some Plus X in the Autocord that I'll be trying with the HC-110 in the next couple of weeks.

Glad to have the developer recommendations. I've made up seemingly innumerable rolls from a 100' reel of Plus-X, vintage early 1990's, that I found sitting around a while ago. My judgement of these things is not a well-educated one but I liked the results I got using a not-so-young bottle of T-Max at recommended times. (I overexposed the film a stop or so, imagining that its sensitivity might be less after 15 years.) But I hope to get a little time this summer to try some other developers.
