Plustek 8200

I'm considering one of these. I shoot a lot of 35mm and my only scanner is an Epson V500. I do the occasional 645 or 6x6 but that's winding down. Is the plustek going to be an improvement? Would I be better off getting some glass carriers and Vuescan?

I'd like the least expensive/smallest desk space, solution.

The Plustek will certainly give much better 35mm scans than the V500 even with glass carrier. It will also take up much less desktop space, but it is manual feed and so isn't so quick doing digital contact sheets. Check out what software you want before buying the Plustek, they are all the same with the only difference being the Silverfast version they are bundled with, so you don't need the very latest version (and so most expensive) if you intend to use Vuescan for instance.
