This might be stupid question. Can someone tell me what is exactly Push & pull to the film mean? What does it do? And lastly how to do it? what is the benefit of it? Thank you from beginner.
 
It's just photo slang for shooting and processing a film at something different from it's rated speed.

Pushing means shooting a film at a faster rating (400asa shot at 800) and then extending developement times or using speed enhancing developers. You get marginally higher speed but with a loss of detail in the shadow areas.

Pulling means shooting at a lower sensitivity (50asa shot at 25) and SOMETIMES reducing the development time. This enhances shadow detail and can reduce the appearance of grain.
