It has been 2 weeks since I got my MP. It is the, hands down, best thing I have ever bought in the entire history of me buying things. Over the course of a week of use the winding mechanism has turned buttery and slick (it was a touch stiff at first) and I swear, somehow it has gotten quieter. If it was perfect to begin with, it has now become an almost sublime piece of equipment.
I highly recommend picking one up.
OK, done now. whew, thanks.
Then you make more money than I. However, I kinda like saving the paper. 😀this is the monthly salary!

That's why she treats my obsession over kit and a kitchen sink that's constantly full of empty reels and graduated glassware with a sense of amused curiosity. Maybe not curiosity exactly, more just amusement. She thinks I'm weird. (I am.)
Since I have the new leica though we've gone out a few times to shoot, she carries my previous camera, a bessa r2. She's getting into it, but I suspect that it's more about having fun walking around with me than it is about actual image making. Whatever, I appreciate her interest nonetheless.
Ken, you must be excited. I know what it feels like. Also my credit card is still recovering and it's been almost 2 months.

Since I have decided that I like mechanical cameras, if I ever buy a "new" Leica I think it'll be an MP. Of course, that will have to wait, you know, for the aforementioned lottery winnings.
