Polarized Viewfinder

I was experimenting with the viewfinder and a polarizer film, taken out from a digital watch. If I place it in front of the viefinder, with the correct orientation, it improves the focusing patch image in bright light. Now I am struggling with how to fix it to the viewfinder (without messy glue).

Has anyone tried to do this?

Doesn't the polarisation direction vary in different circumstances? Is it therefore useful to mount it permanently?
And how about low light?

can you cut out a circle of it and put it against the inner surface of the screw in eyepiece bit?

At a time when I, personally, am re-investigating the concept of using a polarizing filter on a rangefinder camera...

On the assumption that a polarizing film or filter can be synchronized with a second polarizer over the taking lens, then a more or less permanent placement of polarizing film over the viewfinder could be the indicator of taking lens polarizer position of the filter.

Indicated is the viewing polarizing filter the sits in the hot shoe and rotates 90 degrees to cover the full range of polarizing effects. On the top of the assembly is a red line, slightly visible in the photo, that indicates what position the taking lens polarizer needs to be set at. I used this with a marked/synched polarizer filter on a Fuji 645 rangefinder.

Maybe the polarizing film could be attached to, say a diopter eyepiece that screws into the camera eyepiece?
