Wow, it's a 13 years old thread! Time to keep it alive!
This "homage to Janis" is a photo I took from my computer screen with the SX70 camera on Polaroid film. I could have placed the camera on tripos for a sharper image but I wanted a more personal interpretation and decided to shoot hand held. It's like just to sketch something with a charcoal. It's part of a work in progress, still to elaborate the idea...
Yes, I'm a big fan of Janis Joplin, a great voice !

I remember driving from campus life every weekend to spend the weekends at home. Janis Joplin tapes playing in the Old Chevy while cruising the 2-lane highways...
And Jimi, Cream, etc.

Funny thing, last night, I was looking at a lot of websites regarding the SX-70.
I really must resist!!!

A thread started in 2006 needs to be kept alive! Here is my contribution with a Polaroid photo of my studio desk taken on the old Matt Polaroid Film many years ago.
And on the desk is my Land 340 (it was mu father's camera) ...and there are even a 665 and a 669 film...

Me too. I thought I'd swore off the stuff, after going though several packs of really lousy film, but I couldn't resist trying out this new beta 600-series B&W film, so bought three packs. Should come on Monday. We'll see how it looks.

Interesting, the last B&W Polaroid films I used had for my taste too much contrast specially in the summer light. Therefore I switched to color. But maybe this version works better...please share your impressions!

I've had good results with recent production B&W 600 film, but it can always stand improvement. I haven't compared it with the SX-70 B&W film in a while, I should load up the SLR670x and try some to see how it differs.

In the past couple of months, I've run about five packs of varied, fresh SX-70 and 600 speed B&W and Color film. Frankly, I'm delighted with *all* of it! The two B&W and two color emulsions render very similarly and response to under and over exposure is very similar too. I think (although haven't tested rigorously) that the SX-70 emulsions show a little less reciprocity for longer exposures (3 second and beyond times). The exposure latitude is pretty reasonable, and I can see that the usual half stop "plus" and "minus" that I often have to deal with on manual exposure is proving to be consistent.
Good stuff!
Very nice!

I have some Type 55 that was given to me. It is the one that also has a negative. I know the guy that gave it to me didn't refrigerate it, but I'm surprised it works well. It is 4x5 and here is one:

Can we expect a book? Those look great! I have Robert's book which I think is great and I hoping Lynn will make one as well.
