The Voigtländer 50mm f/2.5 is also a fine lens for B+W on the M-Leica.

I think that there's a lot of merit in doing what the Hollywood movie guys do: choose all of your lenses to have a similar look. Shooting part of a shoot with a new multi-coated aspheric 50 looks odd if you were shooting your tight shots with a 1960's vintage single coated 90mm Elmarit.

Sound advice. It's definitely a good idead to stick with one or two lenses of a similar vintage, build, and brand etc.

Some of you may well be suprised by how much versatility such simplicity will allow you..

I have a tabbed Summicron, which is the same optically as the current Summicron. I love its BW rendering:

Tmax 3200 at EI-1600

Tmax 400

That's my setup, too. Others may be different, but I can't imagine 35 mm getting a whole lot better.
