I had many wides, but I reach for the 35 (50 FF) all the time. You can pick up my 28 for a steal right now on the 'bay.

I just love the 50/1.4 ASPH, but for wide the 24/2.8 and for portraits the 90/2.8 or the Nikkor 85/2.

Mine is this lens:
It's the thread mount L-Hexanon 35mm f2.0, the exact same lens that's on the Hexar AF camera.

Need your help in figuring this out
Need your help in figuring this out
The Leica M9's specs call out a .68 magnification for the viewfinder, and it has framelines for the 28, 35, 50, 75 and 90mm lenses. I have a 24mm Elmar 3.8 and I'd like to know if you think I can use it on the M9 without the accessory finder - could I just use the viewfinder since it wouldn't it basically be the full viewfinder frame - no framellines needed?

Certainly worth trying, as you can easily compare what you see in the VF with the review display on the screen. Correlation will vary with subject distance, and of course you will miss parallax correction by not using moving framelines. The Leica M9's specs call out a .68 magnification for the viewfinder, and it has framelines for the 28, 35, 50, 75 and 90mm lenses. Keith, The 24mm was always my favorite lens when I shot film with an SLR (Canon F1). I'm in line to purchase the M9 and I already bought the 24 Elmar (cart before the horse, I know). But I'm a bit worried about the viewfinder, framelines, etc. since its a .68 viewfinder. Since you use the 24 on your M8 a lot, how do you think it will work on an M9? Any hunches?A lens worth more than the camera itself ...
Yes I am envious ...![]()

Film, the next evolution.
40mm Summicron-C.
Tidy lens that with the crop factor makes it just over a proper 50mm.
I slightly modified the lens to bring up the 35mm framelines which are spot on for the field of view.

Due to my Summilux 35mm pre asph being my one and only lens, i voted 35mm.

It should be my new 35 f2.5 Color Scopar , but I love the 67mm created by a modest Fed 50mm f 3.5 collapsible .It seems just perfect for the details I like to capture .

I voted 35, but I use the 25 Biogon as much as the summi 35 asph, albeit not in the list.
