Local camera store has got a nice Oly 35DC I could probably
get for $35 or a local antique store has a Yashica GT(black)
with original hood and lens cap for $28...Cant test it but I
have worked on several...Antique store also had a Sekonic
Auto-Lumi L-86 meter working in case with instructions for
$8 I did get that to use with my MF Isolettes...
Only experience with OLY was with 35rc? that Joe now owns.
Help me pick..I know buy them both right?
Rob

Yes buy them both, you can sell the one you don't like, - if it works, you can even earn some on that sexy black yashica! (Sorry - am I not politically correct? White yashicas are sexy too:))Or you can make a newbie RFF member happy with a great deal:)
Anyway, i'd love to have that original hood at least.

If there is any life left in the meter of the DC, I would opt for the Olympus. If it's in good shape and the meter works, it's a nice, compact shooter and if you don't like it, you can turn it on Ebay for more than you paid for it.

Don't know about that model Oly, but the Yashica GT (I have two) is VERY SEXY, as well a fun shooter too ~ ; - )

The GT, like all Yashica Electros, is fun to use and you should get good pictures.

From a bit of googling, the Oly DC seems to be AE operation only, no manual override.
The Yashica is slightly better, having Aperture Priority.
I have a Yashica GTN, the shutter is very quiet and the lens is good (and the low light metering is great)
Main dislike is the size, but I doubt the Oly is much smaller

Rob,
In case you haven't made your decision, maybe this can push you over the edge ............ :D

Yeah, thats a nice looking one you got, espcially with that
strap on it! Still thinking about it. I had a GT that was dead
that I never got around to fixing this spring so I sold it...
Still considering it.

Rob,
Thanks, that's my favorite strap, so the GT is in hi-status mode ~ ; - )
