possible to use 120 film in hassey A24 back?

is it possible to use 120 film in a hassey A24 back ?
or doest the A24 back have to take 220 film?

Hi Mark,

I read the following while doing some research on the topic:

120 film will load into an A24, but you'll probably have trouble with the frame spacing. You may only get 11 or 11 1/2 images on the 120 roll. Or you can try loading the leader so that the arrow on the leader is about 3cm from the start mark to allow for the increased spacing between frames.

You can just try a roll to see how it works on your A24.

I never tried it because I only have a pair of A12 backs with my 500CM.

i see
i find it quite hard to get 220 film (used)
seems like alot of ppl are using 120..
i borrowed my friends hassey but it has a a24 back

you can probably find it via mail-order, like from B&H in NY

See if Hasselblad or Koh Camera can convert your back to 120. I would guess they can but it might be cheaper to just buy a used back. I dropped one of my inserts about a month ago and bent it but fortunately could straighten it. Before I fixed it i checked used prices and found they ran anywhere from $85-145 depending on condition. You might also look for a used 12 (not A12) back. It's the old style and you have to manually line up the arrows through a window in the back under the asa dial. You can use both 120 and 220 (if you plug the window) and they're very cheap. You might have to get it rebuilt but they're not too expensive to rebuild.
